Our mission at Lexington Spinal Care is to adjust, educate and encourage our patient families as they pursue health and wellness from a natural approach.

Lexington Spinal Care is a family wellness clinic offering Chiropractic care, Massage Therapy, Nutrition and Weight Loss programs to the residents of Lexington, South Carolina, and surrounding areas; our patient base includes newborns to seniors. We strive to provide families in our community with an opportunity to have a greater understanding of their health care options, and to make informed decisions about their best course of action. Our treatment plans address a patient's pain relief, rehabilitation, and wellness, with an emphasis on corrective care and degenerative prevention. Chiropractic treatment techniques include Diversified, Thompson Drop, Chiropractic BioPhysics, Pettibon, Gonstead, Toggle, Arthrostim and manual adjustments. Available physiological therapeutics include ultrasound, distraction and mechanical traction, trigger point therapy, electric muscle stimulation and decompression. Licensed massage therapists offer deep tissue massage as well as cupping and Raindrop techniques. ChiroThin coached weight loss programs are offered on-site and remotely, and Contour Light LED body contouring is available as well.


  • Dr. Edward S. Carpenter, DC

    Dr. Carpenter graduated cum laude from Life University in 1999. Prior to obtaining his doctorate degree from chiropractic school, he attended Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina. Dr. Carpenter has been practicing in Lexington for over 20 years and has been in his current location for almost 20! Since he began practicing chiropractic, Dr. Carpenter has continuously progressed his education, taking many educational technique and treatment courses, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced chiropractic care available.
    Dr. Carpenter resides in Gilbert with his wife, Julie, and their three dogs. Their two grown children occasionally make the trek home, especially if they hear their dad is in charge of cooking dinner. An avid craftsman and outdoorsman, Dr. Carpenter enjoys fishing and boating, and has built a flat-bottomed Carolina Dory in his garage. He has taken his handmade boat to the Keys for fishing and is currently learning about navigating the Great Loop as his next planned adventure.

  • Geoffrey J. Klaffka, DC, ART

    Dr. Klaffka graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2009. Dr. Klaffka, who has been practicing in Buffalo, New York for most of his career, fell in love with the Lexington area, ultimately bringing him, his wife Lisa and two children Colin and Lexi down to the south. Dr. Klaffka is passionate about educating his patients about how to obtain their true health potential through chiropractic care. Dr. Klaffka’s passion has driven him to be multifaceted in many techniques and acquire additional certification in nutrition, functional medicine and for our furry friends, Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation Therapy. Dr. Klaffka is a faithbased man who loves spending time with his family on Lake Murray and exploring the surrounding areas in the Carolinas.

  • Julie Carpenter, CA

    Julie, co-owner and office manager for Lexington Spinal Care, is a certified Lifestyle Coach, and heads our ChiroThin and Contour Light weight loss and nutrition programs. She loves and lives the chiropractic philosophy, and happily shares her knowledge and support with patients. If you asked Julie what her favorite part of her job is, she would tell you that it is educating the patient and helping them become accountable for their own healthy decisions. When she is not working in the office, Julie is an avid reader, and enjoys crafting, fishing and boating on Lake Murray. She lives in Gilbert with her husband and three dogs.

  • Angela Toth, CA

    Angela is our Front Desk Assistant, coordinating patient scheduling and flow, dealing with insurance and patient billing, and assisting patients with all sorts of questions for over 5 years. She loves working with all our patients and getting them on the road to wellness. Originally from Kansas, Angela moved to South Carolina over 10 years ago with her husband who recently retired from the military after 20 years, and two sons. Angela and her family were patients of Lexington Spinal Care for 2 years before she joined our team. She is the first to boast her two boys are healthy and drug free despite all the rough activities they participate in due to their commitment to receiving regular Chiropractic adjustments and care.

  • Stephanie Martin
    RT (R), CA

    Stephanie is our x-ray technician, assisting Dr. Carpenter with patient evaluations. A graduate of Greenville Technical College, Stephanie moved from the upstate in 2005. A Carolina girl through and through, she currently resides in Irmo with her husband and their two children. She is an avid Gamecock fan and in her free time she enjoys cooking new recipes, going to the gym and playing with her two dogs, Sadie and Ellie.

  • Taylor Jameson, CA

    Another southern transplant, hailing from Harbor Springs, Michigan, Taylor joined LSC in February of 2021 as a Therapy CA and assists patients with all physiological therapeutics, administering EMS, ultrasound, and decompression, as well as monitoring traction therapies and Pettibon vibration. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two young daughters, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to the beach, and taking adventures. Taylor is also currently attending MTC, completing her pre-reqs with a plan to transfer to USC to pursue a bachelor’s in nursing.

  • Nikea Berry, LMT

    Nikea and her two children live in Columbia, where Nikea has been practicing massage therapy for four years. When she is not working at Lexington Spinal Care, Nikea is happiest performing volunteer community service, taking trips with her kids, and event planning. A native of Columbia, Nikea encourages each of us to love ourselves, and enjoys helping patients learn the value of this philosophy through her application of deep tissue, hot stone, and CBD massages.

  • Emilia Taylor, LMT

    Originally from Vermont, Emilia, along with her husband, daughter, two cats and a dog, now calls Irmo home. As a full-time licensed massage therapist Emilia loves applying her 11 years of experience to helping patients feel better and watching them improve after one massage session. When not at work, Emilia enjoys watching NFL football, collecting vinyl records, and boating with her family on Lake Murray.

  • Katy and Trevor Black, CA's

    Trevor can sometimes be found in our office as a part-time Technical C.A. while working toward his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Sherman Chiropractic College in Spartanburg. Originally from Barnwell, he and his wife Katy divide their time between Lexington (Gilbert) and the upstate, and enjoy hunting, fishing, and boating on the Beaufort, SC coast. Katy is also our scheduling CA, helping new patients find an appointment time that is quick and convenient.
